Tucked away near the Blue Ridge Mountains, yet only minutes from Lake James and Morganton, is a great family style retreat. Ask about our access to golf cart rental, it has to be reserved ahead of time since it is offsite. You are lodging in style but have the feel of practically camping! The home is updated with 4 bedrooms, and 2 baths and is located at the end of a private road. Surrounded by woods, there is only one other home in sight. The best part of this retreat is the two ponds, one for swimming which has concrete sides and a sandy bottom and is fed from a fresh spring, the other is for catch and release fishing and has bass, crappie, blue gill, and more. Above the swimming pond is an outdoor covered cooking area with sink, refrigerator, and electricity for large outdoor entertaining. If you want to enjoy nature while lodging in comfort, this is the perfect balance. You are only minutes away from local wineries, Lake James, Morganton downtown shopping, restaurants, craft breweries, Catawba River, parks and trails. You can also jump on I-40 and travel to nearby Asheville in only 50 minutes. We welcome corporate bookings also.
Owner disclosure to guests: The Swimming pond is seasonal from late Spring to early September. This rental is located within a larger family tract and the family does reserve the right to access the property and use both ponds. Renter does have full access to both ponds and picnic shelter but it may not be exclusive. Feel free to contact the property manager to inquire about use. The owner had indicated that July 4th and the first Sunday in August, there will be family members using the common area until 3pm. All booked guests are always welcome to also use the areas and join any activities. Feel free to contact the owner directly.
